On October 7th, 2001, Tangerine Dream gave two concerts in the St. Marien Church in Bernau, Germany. The music performed was called Inferno, being the first of a three part composition inspired by the Divina Commedia (Divine Comedy) by Dante Alighieri. The music was released on CD in March 2002 as a pre-release version available only via internet from the TDI site (packed together with a T-shirt) and selected mail order companies. The official store release was issued in summer 2002, featuring a slightly different cover artwork, including a barcode field that is missing on the pre-release copies.
